This week, my work desk is mainly covered with acrylics.

I've recently signed up with Julie Prichard's Chaos and Calm class and the page above is the result of lesson two.

I've never worked with glazes before and this class seems to revolve around it a lot.

It's interesting to try to blend acrylics, and I can't wait to see the paintings that would be produced in this class.

Unfortunately acrylic and glaze take forever to dry, even with a hairdryer.

I've already had a couple of mishaps where I've lifted still-wet paint when trying to blend colours.

This is an exercise in patience, which I was never very good at.

What classes have people taken recently?

  1. Haven't taken any classes recently. I just try to experiment! Your pages are looking cool! Patsy from

  2. Lovely to meet you, your paintings are gorgeous, can't imagine why you need a class.
    Keep smiling and creating

  3. I love trying new techniques, especially when it involves product I already the Dresden Files...did you know there was even a TV series made of it? (I think it only lasted a season or so...too bad, it was funny!)

    Happy WOYWW!

  4. Erm, never taken an online's kind of a commitment phobia - because there's nothing to commit to but a screen and I'm hugely unreliable in that sense! ANd also, like you , I'm impatient with drying times - unlike you, I'm not discovering the self discipline to deal with it - go you!!

  5. You are creating some beautiful colors with those paints and glazes! I haven't taken any classes, online or otherwise. I'm with Julia...a little commitment-phobic when it comes to classes! I'm always flitting from project-idea to project-idea that I see online...not sure I could buckle down and finish a class!
